Woodland management

    Woodland Management

At MDH Forestry Services we work alongside landowners to identify preexisting strengths and create longterm sustainable plans for their woodlands. Looking into the environmental opportunities and product potential of their spaces.

We look in depth at the potential volume and value of timber and woodchopping, discovering routes of financial gain and advise the most effective timber harvesting techniques required.

We encourage the establishment of younger tree stock, pushing natural regeneration and the growth of structure. Prioritising a mixed age structure helps support future tree stock, good yields and ensures all woodland structures are retained for future generations.

We also advise the best way to make your woodland a safer space for wildlife, encouraging and establishing understories for wildlife cover and man-made corridors (which will fill with mixed structures to contribute to natural wildlife resources.)

Alongside all of this, our woodland management discusses potential grants, project proposals, budget planning and work contracting, working with you to ensure a long-term plan for a healthy and sustainable woodland.
