Mike Hartnell founded MDH Forestry Services to encourage the enrichment of nature and promote the natural regeneration of ancient woodlands, fighting climate change to help the future generation.
Alongside forestry consultation, Mike continues his passion for natures survival through his work with the National Hedge Laying Society, tree nursery, educational activities, wildlife rehabilitation and bee keeping.

At MDH Forestry Services our aim is to support and promote the importance of ancient woodlands, and encourage a space of natural regeneration. Woodland management is essential in establishing a healthy and productive woodland, guaranteeing secure environmental and product potential.

We work alongside professional contractors to deliver excellent forestry services, such as; tree felling, coppicing and timber harvesting.
Our trusted teams experience and skills allow all spaces to be safely managed efficiently.

MDH Forestry Services prides itself on its environmentally conscious work ethic. Mike Hartnell is the vice chairman of the National Hedge Laying Society, a charity which focuses on preserving the traditional craft of hedge laying and promotes the importance of hedgerows and their impact on natures stability.

We offer fully reliable surveys for your land. Looking into safety, environmental impacts, value of the space, and the overall appearance.

Alongside forestry and hedge laying, Mike also runs a tree nursery. The nursery aims to safeguard and protect the future of the Cotswolds by producing and establishing trees to support against climate change and help mitigate diseases.
